I went to 15 of the 44 national historical stations on the Moscow Metro today. It moves over 8 million people a day. It is hands down the most beautiful metro in the world, with marble from churches taken down by the communist anti religious regime instead put in ordinary subway stops. A belief that a metro as beautiful as grand palaces and museums would be equalizing wealth has led to a truly amazing experience underground. Not to mention, the trains come every 90 seconds - there are no schedules, just frequency. Photos coming... well in a week after I get off the train in China.
