A vintage tram car on the Tōkyū Setagaya line in Setagaya Prefecture. 🚃🇯🇵 In operation since 1938, this is now one of only two surviving tramways in Tokyo, as most trains are heavy rail and longer in length. It was a very cute ride. .

This shrine just outside central Tokyo in a quiet neighborhood is where the “lucky cat” legend originates. .
A poor monk cared for his beautiful white cat like his child, and one day he asked his cat to help bring some fortune to the temple. After some time, some Samurai were passing the temple, hungry, and they saw a small white cat raising its paw. .
They were intrigued so they stopped and stayed the night at the monk’s house. A storm came, the Samurai spent many days with the monk, and were driven to donate land to the temple making it large and profitable - land I stood on today. .
An otherwise stern zen shrine, there are thousands of lucky cat statues clustered there donated by grateful temple devotees, and it is now known as the cat shrine. Lucky cats are thought to bring business and good fortune in. ... since my business IS cats, I thought I must have to go. so, I visited the cats, said some prayers, and took home an Omamori lucky cat which is said to bring me more business with its little white paw. .

That awkward moment when you wore the same thing as your hotel room.

This was a fantastic indie 4-room art hotel @bnahotel where every room was done by a local artist, every detail down to the light switches. The artists get a portion of the proceeds from each stay. It was above an 6-seater bar in a very cute neighborhood called Koenji full of 6-seater bars and artists in Tokyo. I highly recommend them for a stay, was an excellent way to experience a less-seen alternative side of Tokyo. (Also the room was great!) matching outfit not required for stay. - once I have time to edit I will put a full tour up on my YouTube channel. .
