What on Earth is Plaid Pantry Century?

Sometimes you wake up, and think “How could I make my Sunday unnecessarily challenging?” or “How many sour skittles can I consume over the course of one bike ride?” And you think - why not ride to every single Plaid Pantry in Portland? Inspired by Simon Xu’s Plaid Pantry speedrun.

You’ll never be far from the next snack.

Plaid Pantry Century is a self-paced brevet-style century ride to visit all 53 Plaid Pantry stores in Portland by bike — solo or as a relay team of up to 6 people. Cue sheet provided. No one wins, everyone wins. Start anytime after 12:01am, end by 7PM for snacks, prizes, and celebration.

How It Works

🧑‍🦲

Going Solo

You versus every Plaid Pantry in Portland. On a bike. In a day.

  • Everyone starts at the first location on the official route.
  • Follow the stores in order as listed on the route. You do not have to go into every store.
  • There are 6 designated checkpoints where you need to dismount and make a purchase. Get a receipt - it’s your timestamp!
  • Track your whole route on RideWithGPS or Strava
  • Finish anytime! If you bike fast, feel free to go home and grab a nap before meeting at the end location at 7PM for prizes and celebration
🤝

Relay Team

Divide and conquer! Split the route between up to 6 teammates and hand off the baton (and Takis).

  • Rider 1 starts at the first location on the route
  • Follow the stores in order as listed on the route. You do not have to go into every store.
  • Trade off to the next rider at one of the official checkpoints
  • All 6 checkpoints require a receipt with timestamp. If you did a handoff to the next rider, you also need a selfie with both riders
  • Each rider tracks their own segment on RideWithGPS or Strava
  • Finish anytime! All riders meet at the end location at 7PM for prizes and celebration

Proof of Plaid

We run on the honor system — but bring receipts. Literally.

🧾

Hit the 6 Checkpoints

Buy something at each of the 6 designated checkpoint locations. A Rockstar Energy counts. A corn dog counts. It all counts — just keep that receipt.

📱

Track Your Ride

Log your full route on RideWithGPS or Strava. Your GPS track is your witness that you rode the stores in order (and didn't just take the MAX).

🏆 Prizes for those foolhardy enough to attempt. Even if they DNF.
